Yuckerberg Deepfreeze

Yuckerberg Deepfreeze

July 13, 2024, Saturday — Zuck warning!! Depressive blog warning!! Yuckerberg Deepfreeze. Even been burned by the cold? Then you’ve been Zucked.

I used to have mixed feelings for Facebook and Instagram. One mix being the strain of shouldn’t this addictive drug have oversight? Won’t the distracted multitudes in their endless mindless trance mainline the lies, propaganda and brainwashing straight into their bloodstream? Won’t the multitudes, under the influence, be unable to see the division that is happening? Not see that foreign enemies and their bots have been given places at the table disguised as benign dinner guests to ensure you start hating your fellow citizens? Or worse, you’re so deep in the division, you don’t care once you see it? Dystopia sowed and created in trade for clicks which are in trade for a dollar amount that makes a Zuck or a schmuck of a different name feel as powerful as the government. Of the people, for the people, by the people replaced with of the tech giant, for the tech giant, by the tech giant. It’s a goal.

But good stuff, too

But for all that darkness, I concurrently had gratitude and appreciation that as an artist I could, using this platform, reach and grow an audience for just a few dollars per month. And other creatives and entrepreneurs who don’t have the bankroll for much else. And of course, people connect and use it in wonderful ways. There is a good part, why we all love it.

In 2017, I started using FB biz pages for my art business, and for the first 18 months, I spent $1 a day on an ad to bring new people to my art page. That gave me momentum. After that, I just posted pretty pictures (i.e. my art) and spent $10 once a month or so boost a post. Eventually, I reached 15K followers and it was not uncommon for my posts to get over 1K likes. Generally the minimum was 700 likes, with tons of comments and sharing.

Fast forward to the Yuckerberg Deepfreeze

Yep, fast forward to the Yuckerberg Deepfreeze. (That’s for Goo’s Algo “who” loves repetition of the “main points”. Maybe because everyone’s so distracted scrolling, you have to keep reminding them what they are reading?) My banishment to the Siberian gulag started with me needing to take care of an elderly family friend. Oops, can’t be helping other humans in real life, real time. You need to spend every minute engaged in their virtual worlds. Right away, Big Algo froze me out. Not humans. Anyone who’s ever tried to reach FB customer service knows there is no human interaction.

Burned!

To be clear, the whole hiatus was 11 months, and it’s not like I never posted. But it went from once or twice a week, to once every 2-4 weeks. You’d think I was the one that died the way they treated me. Now that I’m back working and business posting like before, I’m lucky if they show my post to 40 people. This is out of the15K followers. And I’ve active for a couple of months.

I have no idea how to claw my way out of the deep freeze. I tried spending $20 a few times and it didn’t seem to make ANY difference. NONE. ZERO. UNDETECTABLE. How greedy has Zuck and Co become? Bottom line, I refuse to be an unhappy person—AND even the good strain of my mixed feelings for FB and IG has become soured. I cannot wait to have enough collectors and/or an assistant so I don’t have to deal with them at all. This blog is helping, too, to gain traffic in different ways.

In conclusion…

Yep, in conclusion, so for this blog’s big Algo, let’s throw out a few searchable words: Elon Musk, Space X, Starlink (see what I’m talking about?), Sergey Brin, Larry Page, Tim Cook, Steve Jobs, the list goes on. Can’t recommend enough Dave Egger’s books, The Circle and The Every. Very close to home. And Vauhini Vera’s, The Immortal King Rao, shortlisted for the Pulitzer in 2023.

Quick, before I go into apoplectic shock, please browse my originals gallery, browse prints, and sign up for my monthly newsletter.
