Oct 13, 2022, Thurs — Sac and Back. In a day. The miracle of the automobile and the four- lane highway. It’s so weird to think of the amount of asphalt my tires eat up when I go to Sacramento and back in one day. And how cars don’t just rattle apart. I’m always a little chi-drained from the speed and concentration of flying down the runway in my little tin capsule.
Chi-drained. That’s new code for exhausted. We needed some new focus words around here! Maybe I should skip the blog tonight. But it’s only 300 words. I do feel sorry for anyone reading this drivel that’s for sure. I went to Sacramento Giclee and picked up two paintings that have been waiting for me down there for over a month while I went to Colorado. It is good to see them again, like old friends: Champagne Beach and Rainbow Plumeria.
I dropped two new ones off: Wild Parsnip and Vineyard Enchantment. And I brought them a big roll of primed canvas that they are letting me keep there on the premises for when I order stretched canvases. Which I did today for the first time. Next time I go down there, I’ll be picking up three large blank canvases: a 40×40, a 40×50, and a 40×64. Painting for the size of my Prius, haha.
Best of Awards…
Oh, here’s something art diary worthy. I got an email today from the City of Redding saying that I’d won the “best of” award in art. How cool. I didn’t even know they were running a best of competition. That’s the best way to win! Do nothing. I sent them a thank you note and have requested my digital “award” to post to my pages and website.
There is too much to do all the time. I can’t wait to start painting this new piece tomorrow. Aspen Trail. Night night Sac and Back. Shake and bake, sweet dreams, etc. And while you’re dreaming, might as well dream about buying Originals and share the Art Giveaway on your social media pages.
