Palm Tree Painting Day Two

Palm Tree Painting Day Two

June 12, 2022 — Palm Tree painting, day two… so exciting. I tweaked yesterday’s work, which shockingly took me about 3 hours but this set the foundation I was looking for. And from there I cranked on the lowest part of the sky. I left thoroughly exhausted but I got the entire lower and most complex part of the sky finished. A good thing because I drive to Sac & Chico tomorrow for image capture and Muff, and it won’t be workable in the same way when I return on Tues.

Palm tree painting day two aside, I will be loading the car in the morning and heading to image capture with Pele and Island Plumeria, along with taking for re-shooting, Monterey Gems and Stained Glass Afternoon, which for some reason, Andrew (God rest his beautiful soul), delivered me a super tiny TIF which I hadn’t noticed till recently. So tiny that I can barely reproduce it at size, much less bigger than. Not excited about the bill to reshoot them, but glad for the opportunity while I still own the originals.

Kaleido

I’ve been invited to post my artwork in the beta version of Kaleido, a site for impressionistic artists, that takes no commissions. Not sure what the catch is, but I put up the first two pieces of art, which was all I needed to go live.

Dare to talk Politics?

I never dreamed something this perilous to our democracy would be happening, and that so many citizens would be in denial. Goes to show that vulnerability and stability of a country is psychological as much as anything.

About Lauren Forcella

Lauren Forcella is an award-winning California artist with 27 years of experience. If art was writing, Forcella’s style would be called magical realism. Indeed, her paintings are a love letter to this beautiful Earth. In art, her style is called alla prima impressionism. Forcella uses a bold palette of classic oils. She lays the paint on thick so the emotions of her subject come through the brushstrokes as well as the color. Read More…
