Greetings Cards After All

Greetings Cards After All

Sep 6, 2022, Tues — Well, looks like I will offer greeting cards after all! As I am updating and adding to my Fine Art America site, I see I can actually customize the greeting cards. I hadn’t seen this feature the first time around and the default is to have the artwork bleed to the edge. Which looked cheap in my always humble opinion. When I ordered a couple of cards to see how they looked, they were not exactly art quality as if I were to order from my printer (but those cost ME an insane fortune. I’d have to charge $8 a card!). Now, I see I can create a margin for a classier look, and even pick the background color.

When I get home, I’ll take a look at those cards I ordered again. From there, I’ll decide whether or not I want to actually promote the fact that this is where you can order cards. Or just leave it as an option for anyone who might be stumbling across my FAA offerings.

All day I worked on my Fine Art America site. Swearing under my breath the whole time. (I’m a houseguest for the next two weeks.) I’m getting my page ready for, you know it! Winning the billboard contest! The announcement of winners is in one week. Or as consolation prize, getting extra attention for being over 100 votes. Already, there are a lot more visitors as well as quite a few comments. Big win already.

So for the FAA site today, to wit, I rewrote my bio. I found my document that had the best hashtags already figured out. And I worked up a couple of paragraphs so people have a link to my website if they want to see a closeup of the art.

AND, another big surprise. To wit, I discovered that I can sell my originals on FAA commission free. Wowza! So different than Saatchi Art who takes either 30 or 35 percent. FAA let’s you list size and price, and from there folks are directed to a contact form to get in touch with the artist. After which, the sale is up to me.

So tomorrow, I will go back over the already-posted art and make these improvements. It’s originals for sale and halfway decent greeting cards after all!

Well, not a crack of humor in today’s post. But I did crack two plates today. From the wedding china. Part of my mother-in-law affinity program. Hope that will make it up to you. And also for you, a warm welcome to sign up for the Art Giveaway. It’s “dropping” this fall.
