Nothing to report today, still battling for the soul. At this point, I’ll even take simple competency. This one section where the sun (as white light through thin clouds) is bursting around the main trunk is ridiculously hard. This spot is the soul I think, this spot will save the painting if I can get it right. I spent a good part of today on it, scraped it off, and put in on again, still not right. It’s hard to make these things look alive. Not “painted”, but a living, emotive light.
