Aah, Black Friday—that annual stampede of panic when shopping carts collide, credit cards smoke, and someone invariably tries to wrestle a 75-inch TV into their car. Call us crazy, but we humans love to give. And we want our gifts to be personal—AND practical—AND on time! What to do??
That, my dears, can be solved by giving art. You get the personal part, here’s the rest…
Art as a practical purchase
Art as a Practical Purchase
Brain studies shows that art we love—and great art in general—lights up the same pleasure centers associated with being in love. This not only makes you feel good, it causes blood pressure and stress hormones to drop dramatically.* That’s pretty darn useful. THEN, if that art is also impressionistic and has texture and bold palette (which is my genre and style), it also stimulates the brain to go into gear every time you look at the art.* To integrate the textures and colors, and resolve the imperfection of impressionism, the brain literally forges new neural pathways—every time you look at it! Art lifts lives. That’s why it’s been coveted by conquerors and the elite through the ages.
And now, with print technology, great art is affordable and available for all of us.
You can’t go wrong!
A father surprised his teenage daughters with prints for Christmas—he said they went bonkers. A husband bought his wife a piece she’d looking at over and over. It’s one of their prized possessions today—even for him. Many elderly deeply miss the outdoors. I’ve had reports of great joy when given stimulating art to gaze upon during their final days. Gadgets fizzle, sweaters shrink, but the right painting wins every time.
Art is an heirloom waiting to happen
Art-quality giclee prints will last 100 years. Originals over 300 years (DaVinci’s work is over 500 years old). A friend has a prized painting passed down over a century from her great grandfather. It is his legacy.
Watch for my Black Friday sale later this week. While you sip hot chocolate, and play your favorite music, you can leisurely browse my website for the perfect gifts. Have the art shipped anywhere you like, and congratulate yourself on the most enjoyable holiday shopping ever.
